LGBTQ+ Health Care
Meet Dr. Cheng, The Gay Urologist
As a gay man, I understand firsthand the struggle to find LGBTQ+ allies when looking for a physician. But sometimes we need more than just an ally. A gay physician is able to understand your unique health and wellness needs and relate to your personal experiences.
My goal is to make all of my gay and transgender patients feel safe from prejudice and provide a safe space for discussing their sexual and urologic needs.
Let's build a personalized health and wellness plan to enhance your physical, mental, and sexual health together.
Services We Offer
At Peak Men’s Health, we treat gay, bisexual, and queer men in addition to non-binary and transgender individuals. Our specialties include:
- Sexual dysfunction (erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, penile curvature)
- Low testosterone
- Cosmetic Urology
- Fertility care
- Prostate cancer survivorship
- Urinary dysfunction
We also treat transgender men who are interested in gender-affirming hormone therapy (i.e. testosterone therapy) and transgender women who are interested in fertility preservation (i.e. sperm retrieval, sperm cryopreservation).
Erectile Dysfunction Medications
Get your erectile dysfunction medication from a board-certified gay urologist specializing in sexual medicine instead of ordering online from subscription pill mills.
ED drugs can also be dangerous if you have certain conditions, like heart disease. It can also be a sign of cardiovascular disease, low testosterone, or other health issues.
Meeting with a physician for a prescription will help ensure that your overall health and wellness are in great shape. It will even help with prescribing the correct dosage or combination of medications to increase your sexual health and performance.
Low Testosterone Therapy
Low testosterone is also known as hypogonadism or “low T.” Beginning around the age of 30, testosterone levels in men often start to decline. Symptoms include the following:
- Low energy or fatigue
- Low sex drive or libido
- Difficulty with erections
- Weight gain or increase in body fat
- Decrease in muscle mass
- Symptoms of depression
- Low sperm count
Low testosterone can be treated with testosterone replacement therapy or with medication that helps your body make more testosterone on its own.
Cosmetic Urology
Penile and scrotal abnormalities are extremely common. Many men are also dissatisfied with the appearance of their genitals. We are proud to offer the latest procedures in male genital aesthetic surgery:
- Adult circumcision
- Frenuloplasty
- Hypospadias repair
- Scrotoplasty
- Scrotal botox
These surgeries can be performed in-office or as a day surgery in our ambulatory surgery center.
Ongoing Research in Gay Men's Health
Dr. Cheng and Peak Men's Health have completed the largest study of gay and bisexual men pursuing parenthood.
Dr. Cheng also recently wrote a paper highlighting sexual dysfunction in men who have sex with men. Research shows that gay and bisexual men have higher rates of sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted infections, and mental health disorders than their heterosexual counterparts.
Furthermore, gay and bisexual men who undergo treatment for prostate cancer experience worse quality of life and more dissatisfaction with their health care.

Fertility concerns of the transgender patient
Abstract: Transgender individuals who undergo gender-affirming medical or surgical therapies are at risk for infertility.
